About this activity

The Dubai Frame is one of the newest tourist spots in the city. Dubai is always coming up with new and exciting attractions. The Frame is a huge structure located in Zabeel Park, and The Guardian newspaper called it “the biggest picture frame on the planet.”

The design was chosen in 2009 as the winner of the ThyssenKrupp Elevator International Award, out of 926 entries from around the world. The goal was to create a symbol that would show “the new face of Dubai.”

At the Dubai Frame, visitors can learn about the city’s past and see how much it has grown in terms of architecture and technology. It’s a popular place that combines culture, history, and stunning views of Dubai.

 

Highlights

  • The Dubai Frame was designed by award-winning architect Fernando Donis.
  • It is 150 meters tall and 93 meters wide.
  • On the ground floor, there’s a museum that shows how Dubai grew into a major city in the world.
  • The outside of the Frame is designed to reflect the colors of Expo 2020.
  • The two towers are connected by a 100-square-meter bridge. In the middle of the bridge, there is a 25-square-meter glass panel where visitors can enjoy amazing 360-degree views of the city.
  • The project cost over AED 150 million.
  • It is located in a prime area where you can see both Old Dubai and New Dubai.
  • You can get there easily by metro or taxi. The nearest metro stations are Al Jafiliya and ADCB.
